Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Naperville took the top spot on Niche's 2026 Best Cities to Live in America ranking for the third consecutive year, and the city is large enough that its rental areas feel genuinely different from one another. These areas stand out for renters:

Naperville's Northeast Side
This is the stretch above Ogden Avenue where Iroquois Club sits, and it trades downtown foot traffic for short errands. Costco, the H Mart grocery and food court, and the restaurants at Freedom Commons are all within half a mile, and the I-88 interchange is just north. Arrowhead Park is about three tenths of a mile west along Iroquois Avenue.

Cress Creek
Cress Creek occupies the north side around Cress Creek Country Club, which opened as the Chicago area's first residential golf course community. Housing runs from single family homes to townhomes and condos, on quiet streets under mature trees. Cress Creek Park and a neighborhood pool sit inside the subdivision.

Downtown Naperville
Downtown puts you on the 1.75 mile Riverwalk, the brick path along the West Branch of the DuPage River that volunteers built in 1981 for the city's 150th anniversary. Naper Settlement, the DuPage Children's Museum, and the Millennium Carillon at Moser Tower are all within a short walk. The Naperville Metra station sits at the north edge of the district.

Historic District
The City Council designated Naperville's local historic district in 1986, and it now covers roughly 320 properties, including 253 homes and part of the North Central College campus. The city describes these buildings as significant examples of local architecture. The district sits adjacent to downtown, so the same shops, restaurants, and Riverwalk access stay within walking distance.

Three Straight Years at Number One
Niche ranked Naperville the number one Best City to Live in America in its 2026 report, first out of 229 cities and the third consecutive year at the top. The same 2026 rankings placed the city first for Best Cities to Buy a House in America. With roughly 153,000 residents as of the 2024 Census estimate, Naperville is also Illinois' third largest city.

The Riverwalk and 130-Plus Parks
The Riverwalk runs 1.75 miles of brick path, fountains, and bridges along the DuPage River and was built by residents in 1981. Beyond it, the Naperville Park District maintains more than 130 parks across more than 2,400 acres. Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve covers 1,829 acres with seven miles of trails on the south side of town, and McDowell Grove Forest Preserve adds nearly seven more miles to the west.

The East Ogden Corridor
Ogden Avenue, signed as U.S. Route 34, carries most of the north side's shopping and dining. From Iroquois Club, Costco is about two tenths of a mile east and the H Mart food court about three tenths of a mile, with Freedom Commons and its restaurants about four tenths of a mile north. Ogden also carries the auto dealerships and big box retail that keep most errands on one road.

Twenty-Eight Miles from Chicago
The city sits 28 miles west of Chicago by its own measure, with Metra's BNSF Line running from the Naperville station into Chicago Union Station and Amtrak stopping at the same platforms. I-88 passes along the north side and I-355 runs to the east. That combination makes a downtown workday and a suburban address compatible.

From Iroquois Club, the Ogden Avenue corridor handles the everyday and downtown Naperville handles the rest, all inside a few miles. Residents regularly head to:

  • Naperville Riverwalk
  • Centennial Beach
  • Naper Settlement
  • DuPage Children's Museum
  • Millennium Carillon at Moser Tower
  • Paddleboat Quarry
  • Arrowhead Park
  • McDowell Grove Forest Preserve
  • Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve
  • Nike Sports Complex
  • Topgolf Naperville
  • Hollywood Palms Cinema

Costco and the H Mart food court both sit within about three tenths of a mile, which covers the shorter trips.

Naperville sits 28 miles west of Chicago, and Iroquois Club has I-88 to the north, I-355 to the east, and Metra BNSF service from the Naperville station into Chicago Union Station. The city also carries a deep employer base of its own, and these are among its major employers:

  • Endeavor Health Edward Hospital (Naperville)
  • Indian Prairie School District 204 (Naperville and Aurora)
  • Naperville Community Unit School District 203 (Naperville)
  • Nalco Water, an Ecolab company (Naperville)
  • BMO Harris Bank (Naperville offices; U.S. headquarters in Chicago)
  • Nokia (Naperville)
  • City of Naperville
  • KeHE Distributors (Naperville)
  • North Central College (Naperville)
  • Eby-Brown (Naperville)
  • Wilton Brands (Naperville)
  • Sikich (Naperville)
  • Nicor Gas (Naperville, on West Ferry Road)

The Naperville Metra station is roughly a mile and a half away, which keeps the Chicago commute off the tollway entirely.

At Iroquois Club, the amenity list is built around using the community year round rather than seasonally:

Indoor and Outdoor Pool Under a Retractable Roof
The pool sits beneath a roof that retracts over an adjoining sundeck, so the water stays usable in January and open to the sky in July. That single feature changes what a Midwest winter looks like from inside the property line. The outdoor oasis alongside it holds a firepit, and the entertaining patio carries grills for warmer evenings.

Pickleball Courts, Walking Paths, and a Private Bark Park
Pickleball courts, jogging and walking paths, a community garden, and a deluxe playground share the private grounds. Dogs get a fenced bark park, with up to two pets per home allowed subject to breed and weight restrictions. Arrowhead Park adds more open space about three tenths of a mile west on Iroquois Avenue.

Clubroom With Co-working Space and a Test Kitchen
The community clubroom combines a co-working area with a test kitchen, so it handles a quiet workday and a dinner party equally well. Complimentary Wi-Fi covers all of the social spaces, and monthly resident events fill out the calendar. Package lockers stay accessible around the clock for deliveries that land while you are out.

Climate Controlled Garage and Renovated Interiors
Parking happens in a climate controlled garage, which matters more in February than in any other month. Inside the homes, quartz countertops, modern white cabinetry, glass showers and soaking tubs, and oversized bay windows carry the renovation through. One and two bedroom homes include a full size washer and dryer, and finishes vary by unit.
